powerpoint changing quadratic standard form into vertex form is my worst problem. Can some one assist me understand it? I am a novice at it. What book or other resource do you suggest for starting this subject?

Sounds like your bases are not clear . Mastering in powerpoint changing quadratic standard form into vertex form requires that your concepts be strong . I know students who actually start tutoring juniors in their first year. Why don’t you try Algebrator? I am quite sure, this program will help you.

I completely agree, Algebrator is awesome ! I am much better in math since I used it, and I have the best grades in the class! It helped me even with the most challenging math problems, like those on adding numerators or adding matrices. I definitely think you should try it .
